EXTRAordinary Obedience

What has God asked you to do that seems too difficult?

My friend Jim Shaner was called by God to walk across America.  As he walks he prays for our Nation to return back to God and to build a team of Americans who will pray with him.  Jim has been walking alone for over 8 years.  He is married. He often asks me for prayer because he misses his wife and feels desperately lonely walking the back roads of America. This is EXTRAordinary obedience.

Hosea was a prophet of God in the  year 753 B.C. . God told this prophet to go and marry a prostitute who would cause him much pain and sorrow.  This act was to  symbolize the adulterous mindset that the kingdom of Israel had towards God. Hosea obeyed.  His wife did commit adultery.  She even sold herself into the slavery of prostitution.  Hosea had to buy his wife back.  Yet he continued to love her.  This is EXTRAordinary obedience.

When God calls us to obedience it will often mean dying to our own desires, dreams and hopes. Obeying God can be painful.  https://jackieosinski.wordpress.com/category/depression-2/page/3/

Yet the eternal rewards are beyond measure.

Has God called you to do something that  you feel is just too difficult for you?  Remember, it is not your own power that will be able to succeed, it must be the power of God’s Holy Spirit through you.

“Not by power, nor by might, but by my spirit says the Lord.”
