Now here’s some good advice. You need to use what you have. Here’s what happened.
Twelve years ago we bought a 140 year old house on 13 acres. For a long time we didn’t have most of the necessary equipment to maintain all the acreage. There was a rather steep hill that led down to the pasture where the horses would graze. It was severely overgrown. Not only were thick weeds and brush growing in but small shrubs and trees. What we really needed was a bush-hog.
It would be a long while before we would be able to afford any equipment. But the job had to be done. One afternoon I came outside to find Michael whacking away at all the dense growth with a sickle! I had only seen sickles in movies.
“What are you doing with that thing?” I yelled to him.
“I’m clearing the property. It needs to be done.” He spent over 5 hours that day just hacking down one large weed at a time. He continued to use that sickle for many months – until we could afford a tractor.
By the time we moved 10 years later it was one of the prettiest homesteads you’d ever seen.
What excuse is stopping you from getting the job done? Time? Money? Family? Lack of support from others? Tiredness? There will always be plenty of EXCUSES to not pursue your dreams and plans. You just need to make up your mind. Do whatever it takes to get the job done. Fulfill those plans.
Ecclesiastics 9:10 tells us “Whatsoever your hand finds to do – do it with ALL your might.”
Get up, stop making EXCUSES and be the man or woman Christ has called you to be.
